Dr John Gorman, BDS

After spending several years working in a bustling dental clinic in Scotland, John has recently relocated to Australia. During his tenure in Scotland, he honed his skills and developed a keen interest in Invisalign, contributing significantly to restoring both smiles and confidence for patients.
John finds the most gratifying aspect of his job to be the preservation of teeth that might otherwise be lost. His proficiency in cosmetic dentistry, encompassing Invisalign, veneers, and tooth whitening, enables him to deliver top-notch care to every individual who steps into the clinic. Collaborating closely with the dental team, John ensures that patients have a serene and pleasant dental experience.
Outside of his professional life, John stays active by working out at the gym and by taking a dip in the ocean. An enthusiastic runner, he frequently traverses the Gold Coast waterfront and is currently gearing up for his inaugural half marathon.
Penelope Richards, BOH Grad Cert OH Sc
Oral Health Therapist, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist
Penny is Waterways Dental's new Principal and is a recognised Oral Health Therapist and Myofunctional Therapist. She graduated from Griffith University with an Oral Health Therapy degree in 2012 after working in the dental industry for 20 years.
Penny has a special interest in developing happy, healthy smiles by addressing mouth breathing, sleep-disordered breathing, and poor myofunctional habits which can lead to crooked teeth, limited jaw development, and other concerns.
Penny is passionate about providing early intervention and helping others to achieve optimum outcomes for their teeth and overall health.
In her spare time, Penny loves anything ocean-related and hanging out with her best friend – her husband.

Jess
Practice Manager and Marketing Manager
Some people spend a lifetime working out which career would best suit them. Jess, Waterways Dental's Practice Manager and Marketing Manager, didn't have that dilemma. "I have always loved going to the dentist. I was that weird child that got excited about going to the dentist, so it's the best fitting role for me."
Completing her Cert III in Dental Assisting back in 2010, Jess has enjoyed her career in the industry ever since. Her favourite thing about her role? "Seeing people leave us with massive smiles on their faces. Whether they've been in for something small or something more in-depth, having the patient leave happy is why we do it!"
Hailing from Tasmania, Jess moved to Queensland in 2015 and lists being able to hold a conversation with anyone as one of her strongest skills. In her spare time, Jess enjoys spending time with her partner, attending car shows or simply just hanging out with her dog.

Outside work, she's a passionate foodie, always exploring new cafes and restaurants with her partner. Kerry also cherishes quality time with her adult children and will soon welcome her first Grandchild.
