Before undertaking treatment, we will perform a full evaluation including x-rays to ensure suitability. Because the implant is attached directly to your jaw, the condition of your jaw bone is also a factor in determining if dental implants are right for you.
What steps are involved with dental implants?
Before the implant process taking place, we'll book you in for an evaluation. During this full consult and check-up, we'll discuss dental implants and evaluate your oral health requirements to determine whether they're the right option for you.
Dental implants comprise of two main components – a biocompatible titanium 'screw' that is attached to your jaw, and a custom dental crown attached to it that mimics the appearance of a natural tooth. The permanent dental crown component of the dental implant is custom designed for you and will be ordered from our local laboratory partners. The titanium screws component of your implants will then be placed.
Once you have healed sufficiently from the titanium screw placement, you may receive a temporary crown over the implant whilst we wait for your permanent crown to return from the dental lab.
Once the permanent crown is ready you'll return to have it placed, and the fit and appearance of your dental implant will be checked. Then it's time to show off your new smile!
