Myobrace

Your Gold Coast Myobrace partners

Each child's dental development is unique, but the Myobrace system can help correct a multitude of oral issues – Myobrace has successfully treated millions of children worldwide.

Used by dentists and orthodontists in over 100 countries, Myobrace is a pre-orthodontic treatment that focuses on treating the underlying causes behind crowded teeth – i.e. mouth breathing and poor jaw development – in children aged six-twelve.

Developed to unlock natural tooth growth and development, Myobrace is a series of in-mouth appliances that are worn for one hour each day plus overnight while sleeping. This goes hand in hand with mouth and breathing exercises specific to the child's condition.

Who is the ideal candidate for Mybrace?

It's best suited to children aged six-twelve, although younger is sometimes possible depending on their maturity. If you notice signs of crooked teeth or tooth crowding, mouth breathing, teeth grinding, bed wetting, poor concentration, or snoring, your child may benefit from the Myobrace system.

How does Myobrace work?

Myobrace is designed to correct myofunctional habits by teaching children to breathe through their nose, rest the tongue correctly in the roof of the mouth, swallow correctly and continue widening the jaws so they grow to their full and proper size. This results in sufficient room for the teeth, allowing them to come in naturally straight – often without the need for braces.

Why choose Waterways Dental as your Gold Coast Myobrace provider?

As a trusted Myobrace partner, we're 100% dedicated to developing happy, healthy smiles by addressing mouth breathing, sleep-disordered breathing, and poor myofunctional habits which can lead to crooked teeth, limited jaw development, and other concerns that the Myobrace system can help us address.

At Waterways Dental, we have qualified orofacial myofunctional therapists in-house who'll be overseeing your child's progress every step of the way, and are passionate about providing early intervention and helping kids achieve optimum outcomes for their teeth and overall health.

What steps are involved in Myobrace treatment?

Step 1: We start with a free, no-obligation hour-long consultation to assess the child and discuss what their Myobrace treatment plan would entail.

Step 2: We then have a record-taking appointment – this is when photos are taken of the child's mouth so we can track changes through their treatment. We also take impressions at this appointment.

Step 3: The following appointment is to present treatment and issue the first Myobrace appliance to the child, and show them how to use it. Depending on the child and treatment follow-up best suited to their condition, visits can be weekly, fortnight, or monthly and are subject to change throughout treatment. Follow-up visits are all-inclusive in the cost. The average treatment time takes 24 months.

Wondering if Mybrace is suitable for your child? Why not ask about the Mybrace system at your next children's dental appointment with us and arrange for a no-obligation consult.
